In a recent financial update, developer Starbreeze revealed that it will be scaling back the game's development team and drastically reducing overall investment as Harvest Day 3 enters its second year. However, the company assures players and shareholders that this will not affect the value content that the game offers to players around the world.

Starbreeze revealed in its recent financial report that Harvest Day 2 still contributes up to 50% of Harvest Day 3's sales, which has long struggled to retain players, although at the end of the first year, they have launched four major DLCs for the game as well as a host of feature and content updates.

Mats Juhl, interim CEO of Starbreeze, said in a statement: "We are confident that we will be able to continue to deliver a great deal of value content to our players at a significantly lower level of investment ahead of the second year. ”

The current market sentiment surrounding Harvest Day 3 has improved across all channels, and the game has recovered from a terrible launch disaster, albeit with a significant reduction in player numbers.

Starbeeze is currently working on "Project Baxter", and Mats Juhl revealed that they are working on expansion plans to support the development of new games.
