First, you need to download Ollama. You can find the official website by searching in your browser.  Refer to the image below.

Click "Download".

Choose your operating system from the three options available. For most users, this will be Windows. After selecting your OS, click the "Download" button below.

Once downloaded, open the installer and click "Install".

After installation, Ollama won't appear on your desktop but can be found in the start menu.  You don't need to open it yet.

Return to the Ollama website and click on "Models".  This is where you'll find the Deep Seek model.

There are several models available.  Choose the latest version (e.g., r1) and click on it.

Click the copy icon to copy the model's command.

Go back to your desktop and open the start menu.  Right-click and select either "Terminal (Admin)" or "PowerShell (Admin)".

In the terminal window, paste the copied model command and press Enter.

The download will begin. Note that it downloads to the C: drive, so ensure you have sufficient space.

When you see "success", the installation is complete.

To open your local Deep Seek model, go to the start menu and click on "Terminal" (or "PowerShell").

Type "ollama list" in the terminal.

Then, type "ollama run deepseek-r1:70b" to access the Deep Seek interface.

You should now see the Deep Seek interface.  Type your questions here, and Deep Seek will provide answers.

This concludes the Deep Seek local deployment tutorial. We hope you found this helpful!
