Ollama is an open-source framework designed for local machines, allowing us to easily download, manage, and update various language models and choose the right model for specific tasks.  The recently popular Deepseek, for example, can be downloaded within Ollama. However, many users have recently encountered problems with Ollama downloads and full C drives. Here are a few solutions to help you avoid these issues.

Solution 1: Network Optimization

Inability to download Ollama might be due to network fluctuations. The solution is simple:

Solution 2: Memory Cleanup

If you're running out of disk space, you can either have a professional manually clean up your C drive to free up enough space to run Ollama, or you can use the memory cleanup feature within Lagofast.  Optimizing your memory can free up space for Ollama.

Solution 3: Change Installation Path

You can change Ollama's installation path.  By default, Ollama installs on the C drive. Locate the Ollama files in the 'Users' directory on your C drive, right-click and cut them.

Then, paste them into another drive (preferably an SSD). Right-click and rename the folder, removing any leading periods ('.').

Next, enter the folder, click on 'models', and copy the file path from the address bar.

Open the Start Menu and search for 'Advanced System Settings'.

Click on 'Environment Variables', then 'New'. Paste the copied file path into the 'Variable value' field. Enter 'OLLAMA_MODELS' in the 'Variable name' field. Click 'OK'.  This will move Ollama to the new drive, freeing up C drive space.
