Path of Exile 2 has quickly become one of the hottest ARPGs, even surpassing Diablo 4 in popularity.  Choosing the right starting class is crucial, balancing survivability and damage output.  While a tanky, ranged, high-DPS class is ideal, finding that perfect balance can be tricky.  The Witch is often recommended for beginners due to her versatile skillset and ease of use.

Many players encounter a recurring issue with Path of Exile 2: a persistent 60MB launcher update every time they start the game.  This guide provides solutions to fix this annoying problem.

Solution 1: Network Optimization

If you experience slow download speeds (around 10-20 kbps) when encountering the 60MB update for the first time, your network connection might be the culprit.  Using a game booster can significantly improve download speeds.

Use Lagofast gamebooster. Search for "Path of Exile 2" and accelerate the game. This can dramatically increase your download speed.

Solution 2: Modify File Extension

First, locate your Path of Exile 2 installation directory. The folder should be named "PathOfExile2".

Inside the game directory, locate the two files as shown in the image (refer to original image).

Delete the file with the ".exe" extension. Then, rename the file with the ".tmp" extension to ".exe". This should resolve the issue.

Launch the game again.  After the initial update, the recurring 60MB update should be gone!
